Look Up LA operates the Starbase Louisiana Hub, an independent community resource covering SpaceX's announced Starship launch and production facility on Pecan Island in Vermilion Parish, Louisiana. The site tracks confirmed developments, community events, public hearings, visitor information and local impact, and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by SpaceX, Vermilion Parish, or the State of Louisiana.

Announced August 25, 2026 by SpaceX with Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry. Location: Pecan Island, Vermilion Parish, Louisiana, near 29.6444 N, 92.4448 W. Stated investment: roughly $100 billion. Vehicle: Starship. SpaceX describes it as the company's fourth and largest launch facility. Construction start, first launch, environmental review timeline, public viewing access and hiring figures: none announced.

Starbase Louisiana, the SpaceX facility, is unrelated to STARBASE Louisiana, the Department of Defense youth STEM education program that has used the name for years. They share a name and nothing else. Specifying SpaceX on first reference avoids the confusion.
