What we still do not know about Starbase Louisiana

The announcement was big on scale and short on schedule. Here is an honest list of what has not been confirmed as of August 25, 2026.

Construction start. No groundbreaking date has been published.

First launch. No target date for a first Starship launch from Louisiana has been given.

Environmental review. A federal environmental review process would normally be required for a launch site of this scale. No timeline for that process has been released.

Jobs and hiring. SpaceX has not published a hiring plan, job count, or application portal for the Louisiana site.

Public viewing. There is no designated public viewing area, visitor center, or road-closure policy yet.

Land. The specific parcels, leases, and acreage involved have not been fully detailed publicly.
